In addition to the Racing Rules for Sailing (RRS), there are six more game-specific rules for tacking duels. A violation of these rules attracts a 360 degree penalty which is equivalent to losing two moves.

Game Rule 1: You cannot move other boats.

Game Rule 2: You cannot sail into the no-go zone

Game Rule 2: You cannot stay in the no-go zone

Game Rule 3: You cannot make successive tacks

Game Rule 3: You cannot make successive gybes

Game Rule 4: Always declare your tack side

Game Rule 5: Always play the moves

Game Rule 5: Always play even if you collide

Game Rule 6: No sail by the lee
