Starting sequence
The race begins at the starting sequence before the starting signal. Getting into position on the start line is more than half the race.

Upwind Box 9
The first upwind beat is the most important leg of the race, but it is not a uniform stage and has segments.

Wind shifts
A wind shift might be a favourable lift or an unfavourable header for your boat.

Current
When the die rolls a current then the current effect is strong and persistent.

Risk taking
Taking calculated risks should be every strategy in sail racing. Risk taking requires great focus.
